At twenty years old, Ainee Fatima is a poet on the Chicago ‘spoken word’ scene. Most of her writing deals with the struggle of growing up in America as a young Muslim teenager and speaks eloquently with the issues her fellow brothers and sisters in faith face today. She is very passionate about her faith and loves to mix fashion while incorporating her religious beliefs. She believes that without hijab, she wouldn't be the woman she is today and she has Allah (SWT) to thank for that.
Simmone Hazzard. 18 years old, born July4th, half black & half white, was raised through Rastafariansim and Christianity. Her father had been studying Islam her whole life from the time she was a baby, until a month after she turned 15 when he took his shahada and the rest of her family. unfortunately now, her parents are divorced and she lives with her mother and youngest sister. Neither of them practice, so It makes it hard for her. She praises Allah everyday that he has made her Muslim and is continuing to keep her strong although testing her.
